Mr. Anupong Chantorn, Managing Director of Alternate 65 Co., Ltd.
Manager Daily 360 – Product and service review website th.revu.net is leveraging the power of product and service reviewers, “micro-influencers,” to meet the needs of a new form of online marketing. It focuses on word-of-mouth product promotion while sharing real usage experiences that are passed on and trusted, enabling brands to reach target customers effectively.
Mr. Anupong Chantorn, Managing Director of Alternate 65 Co., Ltd., the provider of the product and service review website th.revu.net, revealed that the platform was created through collaboration between the company and Yellostory, an online marketing business partner from South Korea, to develop the latest review platform unlike anything previously seen in Thailand. It allows brands or marketers to create review content about products or services through the actual experiences of “reviewers” or “micro-influencers.”
These reviews are presented through “micro-influencers,” who also distribute product review content across online channels such as blogs, Facebook, fan pages, and Instagram, encouraging wider follow-up and helping these articles spread further. This creates credible online content that reflects real user experiences (organic content). At the same time, product or service owners can specify keywords and messages they want to communicate to consumers by creating campaigns on th.revu.net, which has an automatic reporting system capable of measuring views, likes, comments, and shares, providing useful data for marketers to analyze and develop marketing strategies accurately.
“Revu” is an intermediary review platform that helps distribute brand product and service content to consumers. These reviewers are carefully selected for quality and for preferences and lifestyles that match the products, so they can write reviews through their own review channels after actually using the products. This gives brands a large amount of review content created by consumers for consumers, helping consumers understand products and services better and make purchasing decisions more easily.
Mr. Anupong added that over the past year, “Revu” has become the number one review platform helping brands create content based on real product use. It currently has more than 6,000 “reviewers” or “micro-influencers” available to write reviews for clients, across more than 200 campaigns, such as VISTRA supplements, Curel, the number one dermocosmetic brand from Japan for sensitive skin, Han Bingo Korean Dessert Cafe, Siam@Siam Design Hotels & Resorts, Thailand’s number one tattoo removal clinic Dr. Tattof, Dermalis Skincare, Thanaporn Clinic, a leading laser and cosmetic surgery center in Thailand, and essence, a leading cosmetics brand from Germany. In 2017, the company aims to increase the number of reviewers to 10,000 and expand campaigns to 3,000, reinforcing the direction of online marketing that “micro-influencer marketing” is increasingly playing an important role and is increasingly in demand among marketers and consumers.
Influencer marketing in Thailand is becoming very strong and growing rapidly because studies show that consumers follow the lifestyles of people they like or experts they consider credible. When such people post recommendation-style or persuasive content about topics consumers are interested in, consumers tend to follow. However, using celebrity influencers now usually requires a fairly high budget and increasingly resembles conventional advertising. This is why “micro-influencers,” who are not celebrities but people with knowledge and passion in specific areas, are able to spread information or recommend knowledge to those close to them by word of mouth, generating more effective engagement with products and brands.
“The charm of micro-influencers lies in the close relationship between them and their followers. They talk, recommend, and share stories that interest them together, while educating their friends and close followers in their pages, which leads to stronger bonds with products and brands. The review content is also written according to their real feelings from actual use, making it more credible because it comes from things they genuinely like or are interested in. Consumers can sense that reviews from micro-influencers feel more real, like word of mouth or telling a friend, rather than direct product advertising, as with many brands that use famous influencers to promote products directly. As a result, the charm of reviewing is lost,” Mr. Anupong said in conclusion.
