In the digital age, where enormous amounts of data are generated, digital data analysis is as important and necessary as any other field. At YDM Thailand, we have a Research and Data Analytics department, or RDA, which provides clients with services in systematic digital data planning, management, and storage, including data analysis that can be further applied to marketing.

Today, we would like to take this opportunity to show everyone how the RDA department at YDM Thailand works and what it does by following “Nong Nut,” Sunatsara Phonsak—a bright young woman who brings both charm and expertise in “Digital Research,” which is her position in the department. “If the readers are ready… Nong Nut is ready too.”

9.00 AM: Nut’s morning

“Nut and everyone at work must have their temperature checked before entering the workplace,” because we still need to remain alert and protect ourselves from COVID-19. If anyone has a high fever… they would probably have to go back and work from home first. The office also has alcohol gel at various points for peace of mind and safety for our more than 200 colleagues.

“My office is so spacious. The RDA department’s work area—and in fact the whole place—is designed as an Open Space in a Garden Loft style, with chic photo spots everywhere. I really like it.” After tidying her desk, before starting work, Nut boosts her energy with a warm drink and relaxes at the bar while getting updated on news and different situations before the workday begins.

9.30 AM: Trend Check-up and Keyword Optimization & Monitoring

The task Nut starts with today is checking trends and refining keywords for monitoring. “This part is very important because we are like detectives in the online world, watching what people are saying about a client’s brand or products.” In addition, Nut must keep up with trends emerging across online channels from every platform. If anything interesting appears, there will be updates and discussions about the next step so the team can deliver fast, high-quality work that best meets the client’s needs. So her morning is spent busily in front of the screen like this.

12.00 PM: Lunch at Chokchai 4, surrounded by famous food spots

“I work in the Chokchai 4 area, which everyone knows is packed with popular and delicious restaurants. All my friends are jealous.” Some of the places Nut likes include Sawang Arun noodle shop, Joke Kongprab, Tid Nuea Kobhun, and many chic cafés. In the evening there is also Chokchai 4 Market and the Indy Market nearby, so there is definitely no risk of going hungry.

“I like going as a group with my teammates. It is fun to exchange ideas, and everyone chats about work and general topics, which is another good way to relax the mind.” But when it rains or the weather is too hot to go out, Nut orders delivery to the office because there are many dining corners there as well.

1.30 PM: Team Meeting

“This afternoon I have a monthly meeting with the AE team. We have as many as 13 meeting rooms here… there are a lot, but they are always fully booked, so I need to reserve a room online in advance. That means there is no problem with not having a meeting room.”

The meeting is with the AE team handling the same account as Nut in order to present the report that will be sent to the client. If there is a crisis detected through social monitoring, the AE team must also be informed so that they can work together on a response and coordinate with the client. The RDA department also offers many other services, including SEO, BIG DATA, Personalised Marketing, and Marketing Automation, covering the full range of data technology services.

3.00 PM: Daily Report

“After the meeting, once I have guidance from the team, I continue planning keyword adjustments and preparing the Daily Report from the dashboard data. My work is quite stressful because I deal with enormous amounts of data, but I like to relieve stress by playing with dogs.” As everyone knows, our office allows dogs to come to work with us, and these dogs really help us relax a lot.

(A tie-in is a must.) “During the day I also have to apply lotion because the air-conditioning is quite cold. I keep NIVEA C&A Vitamin Lotion on my desk. It is really good because it combines the best skin nutrients in one bottle, with both vitamin C and vitamin A to keep the skin smooth, soft, and moisturized. I love it.”

6.00 PM: Work-life balance

“In the evening before finishing work, I prepare some delicious snacks and my favorite bubble milk tea and sit together with everyone in the stand area at the front. This area is also used for office activities.” Besides the stand area, YDM Thailand also has a bar zone, a relaxation room, sports areas such as a ping-pong table, a pool table, and board games for us to enjoy and unwind in the evening. Our RDA team works seriously when it is time to work, and relaxes fully when it is time to rest, because here we focus on results together with work-life balance.

So, what do you think about one day with Nut, a Data Analyst? You probably know her a little better now… but this is only one part of the department. Our RDA team still has many other areas of work, and the methods and details vary from role to role.

And that is not all. At YDM Thailand, there are also other departments, along with 11 affiliated companies, all gathered in one place to provide complete services to clients. Next time we will take you to follow another one-day work life story. Please stay tuned. For today, goodbye… Oh, if you would like us to feature any department, just inbox the admin. Bye bye!
