Mr. Tanapon Subsomboon, Chief Executive Officer of YDM (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said that the company has signed an agreement to jointly develop a digital media platform and Big Data with Grand Prix International Public Company Limited, or GPI, a leader in automotive media and organizer of the country’s premier motor exhibition, the Bangkok International Motor Show. As a company with more than 10 years of expertise in digital marketing solutions, we are ready to apply our knowledge, techniques, and tools to help develop digital media and manage Big Data in order to analyze the behavior and interests of vehicle users, as well as the needs of consumers preparing to purchase a car, on the largest scale in the country.

This partnership will benefit both parties. Grand Prix will be able to use this digital media platform to improve its services, making them more convenient, faster, and more precisely targeted, while YDM Thailand will also be able to expand its digital marketing services into the automotive industry, in addition to its current client base in consumer goods, financial services, banking, and real estate.

“As experts with more than 10 years of experience in digital marketing, we see that proper digital media development and systematic Big Data preparation for analyzing consumer behavior are extremely important to business and marketing today, because consumers primarily use digital media. This enables us to understand consumer interests at every stage of their purchasing behavior and decision-making. For the automotive industry, where the volume of data is expected to increase significantly, if we can collect and organize that data systematically and analyze it correctly, it will create an opportunity for businesses to use it in planning fully integrated online-offline marketing to reach target groups more effectively and appropriately,” Mr. Tanapon said.

The CEO of YDM Thailand added, “This collaboration will create a major phenomenon for the automotive industry in Thailand and across Asia. YDM Thailand has backing from South Korean unicorn Yello Digital Marketing (YDM), along with three new investors this year—Intouch, Government Savings Bank, and SET—who will strengthen us in terms of capital, connections, and technology. We are confident that we will become the country’s number one digital marketing group and plan to be listed on the stock exchange by 2020. Grand Prix itself is also a major public company with expertise in automotive media and national-scale motor shows. We are therefore certain that the cooperation between the two parties will be extraordinary and worth watching, because it combines effective online and offline media. Traditional automotive marketing focused only on offline or only on online may no longer be suitable for consumer behavior today. We must begin collecting behavioral data from on-ground to online, and in the end we will become the first company with the largest data set in automotive marketing—a modern marketing approach that does not require wasteful mass communication budgets as in the past.”

Dr. Prachin Eamlumnow, Chief Executive Officer of Grand Prix International Public Company Limited, said, “We are working with YDM Thailand to develop a digital media platform to strengthen our business in the digital era and to prepare Big Data for systematic analysis of the behavior of customers searching for automotive information. These data will enable us to present media usage recommendations to automobile manufacturers more effectively. We are also developing smartphone applications as another channel for presenting useful information to consumers who want access to automotive-related information. Having a partner with expertise in digital marketing like this will help Grand Prix deliver more complete and effective marketing in the digital era.”
